Identifying Domestic Abuse in Housing
This course provides community and neighbourhood teams (eg. housing officers, ASB teams, tenancy support) the knowledge and confidence to identify domestic abuse at the earliest opportunity, increasing early identification
Description
This beginner-level course is essential for all housing officers who visit customers’ homes to increase the early identification of domestic abuse. Housing officers have a unique opportunity to identify domestic abuse before it becomes a high-risk situation.
Delegates will consider what forms economic abuse can take and how this links with rent arrears. We will discuss noise complaints and anti-social behaviour (ASB) reports from neighbours, and how to identify domestic abuse when it is reported as ASB.
Delegate Feedback: "A good reminder not to assume a case is ASB when actually there is more going on. The case studies were useful as we could reflect in our breakout room groups and discuss different opinions"
(This Open Course has been adapted using content form the Neighbourhood and Community and Contact Centre role specific training domestic abuse training. Please do not book if you have previously attended either of these DAHA courses)
